In Rise of Kingdoms, making the best use of your Commanders is key to coming out on top. Each Commander is a specialist at a few different things, such as being an Archer, Cavalry, Leadership, or Infantry Commander. We have already looked at the overall Best Legendary Commanders and Best Epic Commanders however here we go a bit further and look at the Best Attack Commanders in Rise of Kingdoms.

Why you Need Attack Commanders in Rise of Kingdoms
Attack Commanders are the most effective at leading offense in Rise of Kingdoms. As such, they usually possess many talents and abilities that enhance their effectiveness when attacking enemy Commanders and structures.
Attack Commanders are a must for anyone who wants to participate in large-scale battles such as Rise of Kingdoms KvKs. After all, if your Alliance plans to go down in history, you need to go on the offensive and conquer your enemies!
What Makes a Good Rise of Kingdoms Attack Commander
Good Attack Commanders must enhance the offensive capabilities of their Troops in order to shorten the time of a siege or battle so as to lose as few resources as possible. A war of attrition can be costly, so you should always go into battle with the goal of making it as short as possible.
It also takes way more resources to actually rally cities than to defend them. So always consider your target and make sure to scout them out to ensure they do not employ overpowered Defenders that will bounce your attack off.
Attack Commanders are by definition very PVP oriented and as a result, are more often than not also extremely useful in Canyon and KvK content. However, as you’d probably expect, Attack Commanders are usually bad at Defending, so make sure your enemy doesn’t backdoor your Kingdom when you are busy conquering.
Best Equipment for Attack Commanders in Rise of Kingdoms
The gear of a good Attack Commander depends on what kind of units he or she will lead into battle. We already have different guides for Infantry Commanders, Archer Commanders, and Cavalry Commanders that include full recommend builds with in-depth descriptions and I recommend you check them out if you are confused about something.
However, Cavalry Troops are often a popular choice for players to use in an attack. Below is the equipment you should employ if you also prefer to use Cavalry Troops.
- Heavy Armor of the Hellish Wasteland– This Cavalry set chest piece gives your Cavalry +11% health which works wonders to increase their survivability.
- Bootsof the Hellish Wasteland– Another piece from the same set, +7.5% health for your Cavalry, which is great. On top of this, you can gain a set bonus of an additional +3% health for your units.
- Pride of the Khan– Provides you with an amazing +15% Cavalry defense, which is 4% more than the set helmet. The downside is that this is a KvK helmet which is not easy to acquire.
- Ash of the Dawn– Armor for your leg slot which gives +12% to your Cavalry health in one item which is truly amazing.
- Navar’s Control– the gloves of this particular set. They provide +8% Cavalry health but be aware that they are barely a step up from some epic gauntlets like “Iset’s Sufferance”.
- Rifle of the Hellish Wasteland– It gives an amazing +20% to cavalry attack. This is quite useful, but definitely the last item you should track down. The epic set weapon is a great replacement until you collect enough resources for the Legendary version.
- Horn of Fury– An accessory that gives you a chance to generate more fury in battle, generally all-around great for most Commanders, and Cavalry Commanders are no exception.
- Ring of Doom– This accessory plain and simple gives you a chance to boost your damage every time you attack. I don’t think I have to further explain why you would want this on an offensive Cavalry Commander.

5. Tariq ibn Ziyad
For rallying cities and objectives, Tariq is perhaps one of the best Commanders in the game right now. Indeed, he also makes our lists of the Best Infantry Commanders and Best Legendary Commanders in Rise of Kingdoms.
He grants the Infantry under his leadership a lot of attack and defensive boosts, much like all the Best Infantry Commanders in the game. Tariq stands out because of his extra damage when facing cavalry units.
4. Nebuchadnezzar II
Nebuchadnezzar II, or “Nebu” for short is a terror out in the open field. He has excellent AoE damage for large battles, works well for rallying cities and objectives, and can dominate in the Canyon. It is no surprise therefore that he also makes our lists of the Best Legendary Commanders, Best Skill Commanders, and Best Archer Commanders in Rise of Kingdoms.
Nebu can dramatically increase his Archer’s protection and march speed while buffing retaliatory damage. He can also debuff the opposing army’s march speed in addition to debuffing the enemy’s wrath generation. Team him up with Artemisia I for one of the Best Legendary Pairings in the game.
3. Attila
Atilla is quite proficient in both rally and open-field fighting and is easily one of the Best Cavalry Commanders in Rise of Kingdoms. He is a Commander that purely concentrates on going on the offensive by providing his Cavalry Troops significant boosts while weakening the strength of his opponents with debuffs at the same time.
As a result, Attila has a significant impact on larger battles due to his high physical damage and the benefits mentioned above. Indeed, his passive ability, The Siege of Constantinople, is the perfect tool for quickly conquering and destroying any PVP stronghold.
2. Scipio Africanus
Rise of Kingdoms’ legendary Scipio is very adaptable and one of the Best Infantry Commanders, as well as one of the Best Legendary Commanders, in the game. He is most likely the game’s top open-field Commander and is also excellent in the Canyon content, objective defense, and city defense.
He also makes one of the Best Support Commanders in Rise of Kingdoms due to his ability to buff skill damage and reduces the damage taken by allies. Team him up with another dominant Infantry Commander, such as Guan Yu, for one of the Best Legendary Commander Pairings in the game.
1. Alexander Nevsky
Alexander Nevsky is a fantastic Commander that is focused on Cavalry Troops. Not only is he one of the Best Legendary Commanders in the entire game, but he is also one of the Best Skill Commanders, Best Cavalry Commanders, and makes it into one of the Best Legendary Commander Pairings when teamed up with Joan Of Arc Prime.
He may be employed for both offensive and defensive play, as well as PVP and PVE material. However, his strengths tend to lie in the offensive as he is also incredibly quick. He excels at practically any type of content that you may use him for. He is equally a threat in the Canyon PVP and rules the open field. He excels at rallying practically everything.
