Proctor Sets Conference Record, McDaniel Finishes First - McDaniel College (1)

Men's Indoor Track & Field

WINCHESTER, Va. -Senior Tyren Proctorset a Centennial Conference record in the 60-meter hurdles to lead the McDaniel College men's indoor track & field team to a first-place finish at the Kaye & JJ Smith Invitational Sunday at Shenandoah.

The Green Terror beat out nine other teams to take top team honors with131 points in their first meet since Dec. 4. Bridgewater(VA)followed in second place with 113.5 points.

Proctor finished first in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.30 seconds. In the prelims Proctor ran a personal best of 8.25. This mark set the new Centennial Conference record along with the program record. He also now sits 13th in the nation in the event. Freshman Roman Arensmeyer placed fifth in the hurdles with a personal best time of 9.74.

Senior Chett Brunner placed second in shot put with a throw of 15.22 meters. He moved to 25th in the nation in the event. Senior Jake Conklin placed 15th with a throw of 11.48 meters. Freshman Jacob Gibson threw 9.57 meters good for 24th. Sophom*ore AJ Iglesias placed 27th with a throw of 8.95 meters. Freshman Jamey Travers placed 29th with a throw of 8.79 meters.

Junior Jacob Graham placed fourth in the weight throw with a throw of 13.65 meters. This moves him to second in program history. Travers placed 16th with a throw of 10.51 meters, Gibson placed 17th with a throw of 10.17 meters, Iglesias placed 18th with a throw of 9.99 meters, and Conklin placed 20th with a throw of 9.78 meters.

Junior Anders Madsen placed second in the 1 mile run with a time of 4:37.23. Senior Nick Raumann placed fourth with a time of 4:40.63. Freshman Fabrizzio Verano Valderrama ran a time of 5:26.95 to place 16th. Junior Joc Baldacci placed 21st with a time of 5:37.09.

Junior Oral-Anthony Coleman finished second in the 60 meter dash with a season best time of 7.01. Proctor placed eleventh with his time of 7.22, Junior Alex Brown got a time of 7.50 to finish in 24th. Freshman Tarik Jones placed 31st with a time of 7.61, Senior Kyle Silver followed in 32nd with a time of 7.70. Senior DeVaughn Joyner ran a personal best time of 7.87 to finish 35th.

Coleman would also place second in the 200 with a time of 23.18. Freshman Braylon Johnson placed 17th with a time of 25.20. Jones followed in 19th with a time of 25.32, Silver ran a time of 25.98 to finish 24th. Arensmeyer ran a personal best time of 27.43 to place 30th.

The 4x800 meter relay team of Sophom*ore Jack Reiser, Sophom*ore Jack Sears, Raumann, and Freshman Kaydan Batty placed second with a time of 8:30.21. In the 4x400 Madsen, Brown, Reiser, and Batty placed third with a time of 3:40.46.

In the 400 Reiser finished fourth in a time of 54.22, Batty followed in fifth with a personal best time of 54.73. Johnson ran a personal best of 55.53 and placed seventh.Sears placed fourth in the 3000 running a time of 9:17.70, Raumann followed in sixth with a time of 9:30.84.

Senior John Geniti placed fourth in pole vault with a jump of 3.95 meters. Sophom*ore Christian Homer placed fourth in the triple jump with a jump of 12.37 meters. Johnson followed in fifth with a jump of 11.48 meters.

Brown placed sixth in the long jump with a jump of 5.83 meters. Freshman Keiron Wilson jumped 5.70 meters to place eighth. Homer jumped 5.36 meters to place 16th. Freshman Chris Wilson placed 18th with a jump of 5.09 meters, and Joyner placed 19th with a jump of 4.83 meters. KeironWilson also finished sixth in the high jump with a jump of 1.70 meters, Brown placed ninth with a jump of 1.65 meters.

Senior Braden Fink placed ninth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:16.72.

McDaniel will return to action for the Coach I Invitational hosted by Franklin & Marshallnext Saturday, Jan.20.
