Yes! Dragon fruit is full of antioxidants and nutrition. Smoothie bowls also have protein and even more nutrition from the added toppings. They’re definitely perfect for a healthy breakfast option!
Ingredients for Pitaya Smoothie Bowls
There are only 3 simple ingredients in this recipe. Here’s what you’ll need to get started!
Frozen Dragon Fruit – Feel free to use cubed frozen dragon fruit or the frozen dragon fruit smoothie packs. Both work great!
Greek Yogurt – Plain greek yogurt, whole milk yogurt, vanilla yogurt, almond milk yogurt, or any type of dairy-free yogurt are all delicious options in these smoothie bowls.
Frozen Banana – A frozen, sliced banana is a must for adding thickness and sweetening this recipe.

I’ve found frozen dragon fruit (or pitaya) at Whole Foods and Sprouts. It can also be purchased online on Amazon!

- You can always use fresh or frozen fruit, but it’s recommended to use frozen fruit to thicken the smoothie.
- A frozen banana will help give this smoothie bowl a thick and cool texture. If you forget to freeze a banana, use a fresh one and add extra ice!
- You can also freeze coconut milk into ice cubes for an extra tropical flavor in this smoothie.
- Top with any fresh fruit, nuts, or seeds you like.
- I used plain Greek yogurt, but you can use your favorite yogurt!

- 2 cups frozen dragon fruit cubes (or 1 3.5 ounce packet frozen dragon fruit)
- 1 cup plain greek yogurt (option: coconut yogurt for my vegan friends)
- 1 medium frozen banana
Instructions
Place the ingredients together in a blender.
Blend until smooth.
